In Accessible Destinations: 3 Amazing Experiences on the East Coast, we shared with you a list of family-accessible resorts to visit compiled by Robin Denman. It may be difficult, though, for some families travel that far east. So, in part two, we share with you three more disability-friendly resorts for families, located between Utah and Colorado. Enjoy!

Splore, Moab and Salt Lake City, UT

A few notes:  

  • The Utah state tourism department created a guide called Accessible Utah for travelers with disabilities, filled with parks, ideas, and activities.
  • Adaptive rock climbing gym
  • Activities onsite include snowshoeing, rafting, horseback riding, rock/wall climbing, and canoeing.
  • Scholarships available for those with financial needs.

A few notes:

  • This resort works with the National Ability Center to make adaptive skiing and tubing for the whole family.
  • They have trained instructors, and offer specialized outdoor equipment.
  • Instructors are trained teach people with cognitive and developmental disabilities.
  • Adaptive lifts onsite for those with mobility issues.
